Ministry Apprenticeships

Are you wanting to take a gap year in Christian work after University? Do you really enjoy serving in the church and want more of an opportunity to discover and develop your gifts? This is a great opportunity to get a “taster” for ministry in the local church.

Highfields Church is one of the largest churches in Wales uniquely situated in the heart of Cardiff serving a diverse community. We are passionate about reaching people with the good news about Jesus, building them up in the faith and sending them out to reach others.

Our Ministry Apprenticeship scheme is a one year course designed to give you training and experience across the breadth of church work whilst allowing you to specialise in one area of interest. You will also have the opportunity to go on an overseas mission trip to experience cross cultural mission.

Currently we are looking for three people with an interest in one or more of the following areas to join the Ministry Apprentice scheme from September 2016:

  • Students and Internationals
  • Children and Youth
  • Communications
  • Community

You will need to be a committed Christian, with good communication and inter-personal skills and a heart for serving the church. Your time would be divided between working in your interest area, serving generally in the church, and studying on our Network Ministry Training course. You must have good time management and organisational skills as well as enjoy working as part of a team.

The closing date has been extended as we have one place to fill. For more information and an application form please contact the church office or Jon Reeves on the e-mail addresses provided below or download the candidate pack.
