Andrew PetersonA real, ongoing, human conversation

Andrew Peterson is a Christian acoustic singer-songwriter with stunning lyrics.

His concert at Highfields Church last month (along with other tour concerts) couldn't take place because of Covid-19.  So, Andrew performed with his band a spontaneous recording of resurrection songs to go out on Youtube last Sunday - Easter Sunday lasting 45 minutes. Andrew wrote:

It brings me great, great joy to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with you. The good people at Christ Community Church, along with producer Harold Rubens and his crew, let us record just a few resurrection songs after we taped the Good Friday service. This was utterly spontaneous--no rehearsal, flying-by-the-seat-of-our-pants, no idea that we’d be doing it even two hours before this was taped. This wonderful band (Jesse Isley on guitar, Brandon Hays on drums, Skye Peterson on vocals, Thomas Griffith on keys, and Peter Wahlers on bass) literally hadn’t played these songs all together since last year’s Resurrection Letters tour. I hope you feel our joy, and I hope this is a blessing to you all. He is risen indeed.

For more than twenty years now, Andrew Peterson has been about the business of quietly changing lives in four-minute increments.

Wingfeather SagaIn the city of Nashville where music is an industry in the same way fast food, generic greeting cards, and bumper stickers are industries, Peterson has forged his own path, refusing the artistic compromises that so often come with chasing album sales and radio singles and creating instead a long line of songs that ache with sorrow, joy and integrity, and that are, at the end of the day, part of a real, ongoing, human conversation.

Andrew is also the award-winning author of The Wingfeather Saga, a four-book fantasy adventure series for young people, described as The Princess Bride meets The Lord of the Rings. The books are currently being produced as an animated film, which is terribly, wonderfully, indubitably exciting.
