Highfields Big Weekend
Over the last few years there has been a growing focus on our ‘Square Mile’, the area around the buildings where Highfields is based, whilst we have continued to reach out to our own communities that we live in, our friends, families, colleagues and neighbours who don’t know Jesus yet.
So, with this in mind, we have designed the Big Weekend to be an opportunity for every member and attendee of Highfields to get involved in mission by ‘Connecting with our Community’.
And this is how we hope to do that:
Saturday 3rd March
08:00 - 09:30 Prayer Breakfast
‘Without me you can do nothing’ So said Jesus in John 15, so why not begin the weekend by joining together with the rest of the church family and praying for God to be at work?
10:00 - 16:00 Community Activities
Whether it’s knocking on doors to promote the weekly work of Highfields, cleaning graffiti and litter picking or simply serving tea and coffee to a cold shopper, there is something for you to get involved with. Sign up at the information desk in the Highfields Church Centre.
11:00 - 14:00 Dalton Street Open Day
The Dalton Street Community Centre is one of our main ministries in Cathays so why not come down, get a free tea or coffee and see what it is we do?
Sunday 4th March
09:30 - 10:30 Visitors Service: ‘What’s Church for?’
In a society when church is seen as more and more irrelevant, we open the Bible and ask ‘What is Church for?’ A short and accessible service with plenty of food for thought. A great opportunity to invite friends to come along.
11:15 - 12:15 Visitors Service: ‘What’s Church for?’
In a society when church is seen as more and more irrelevant, we open the Bible and ask ‘What is Church for?’ A short and accessible service with plenty of food for thought. A great opportunity to invite friends to come along.
13:00 Lunchtime Hospitality
Where better to have good conversations with friends than over Sunday lunch? Dust off the posh plates and get inviting!
18:30 - 17:30 Visitors Service: ‘Does Community Matter?’
As local community slowly declines, we take a look at the Bible and ask ‘Does Community Matter?’ A short and accessible service with plenty of food for thought. A great opportunity to invite friends to come along.
