Maestro Huw Gareth Williams makes a much anticipated return to Cardiff to conduct Highfields Orchestra in a programme of Mendelssohn and Vaughan Williams.
The concert begins with Mendelssohn's overture Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage, before we welcome the renowned violinist Robin Stowell as soloist in Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending. The second half of the concert will feature Mendelssohn's third symphony, the 'Scottish'.

Huw Gareth Williams studied conducting under Martyn Brabbins and in 1998 he was a finalist in the BBC Young Musicians Young Conductors Workshops. He made his BBC Radio 3 debut that year and since then he has worked with many orchestras and ensembles across the UK, Europe and beyond.
He is a passionate exponent of contemporary music, and has been involved in the commissioning and first performances.
Since 2011 Huw has been leading the International Church of Turin.
