Sunday 18th September 2011

This Harvest Sunday we are reminded of God’s provision. "He cares for the land and waters it...he provides the people with grain." All that we have comes from God. Let's be thankful for all the good things that we have received from God.

But most of all let's be thankful for Jesus! We only know the gracious giver of all things because of Him. Because of God's provision of his Son, we can speak, by faith, as the blessed who are filled with the good things of forgiveness of sin, life and the glorious presence of God for-ever.

Since we have so freely received, let's freely give. In our homes; around our dining tables; with our time; using our gifts; let's serve others, especially those who are in need. And, central to our service, may Christ be proclaimed, the God of our salvation.
