Love Letters to the Bride of Christ
If you asked most people in the UK what is meant by the church I expect they would answer in terms of a building. But the original word in the New Testament "ekklesia" means an assembly or gathering of "called-out-ones."
God is the originator of the church which is composed of people who respond to the call of God in the gospel.
It is the gospel that births, sustains and unites the church; the good news of the eternal plan of God to rescue men and women from every tribe and tongue to form a new community where differences of race, status or gender no longer divide.
On Sunday evenings during the months following Easter we are going to be taking a closer look at what the Bible teaches about the Church. A series of studies from Revelation 1-3 under the theme 'Love Letters to the Bride of Christ' will provide us with instructive case studies of individual churches.
There's no greater privilege than to be a Christian and part of the family of God. So join us over the summer as we delve deeper into the joys and responsibilities of being family members.
